Canadian Patkau Architects designed this elongated house on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. A modern fixture on this 16-acre farm, the slope house boasts an orchard of fruit trees to the south side and a hay field to the north – a natural backdrop to the contemporary style house. Stretching 276 ft. across, this long and lean house features the main living quarters and guest accommodations separated by breezeway. Ultra-modern interiors actually glow, thanks to the use of translucent acrylic panels and 40 skylights overhead, further enhanced by the floor-to-ceiling windows and fully retractable glass wall of the house. The minimalist interiors are the perfect venue to display these breathtaking, unbeatable views. It’s a nature-lover’s paradise!
